Materials
What material is your jewelry made of?
Our jewelry is made from precious materials and finished to the highest standards to ensure premium quality for everyday wear. 925 Sterling silver, handset with 100% natural and ethically sourced diamonds, gilded with 18-carat yellow or rose gold or protective white rhodium. DPT jewelry is therefore protected against oxidation and is hypoallergenic, suitable for sensitive skin.
Do you offer solid gold jewelry?
Yes, we do – in grand homage to Antwerp's diamond heritage, we also present a capsule collection of 14- carat gold jewelry, labeled 'GLD' for the finer moments in life.
These jewels were introduced in the late fall of ‘19 in response to high demand of our customers and were expanded with new styles in '22. Inspired by vintage classics, this collection of modern-day heirloom pieces is defined by timeless styles to pass on through generations.
Why use rhodium plating instead of white 18-carat gold?
Rhodium is a silver-white metallic element that is highly reflective and resistant to corrosion. It is considered the rarest and most valuable precious metal in the world — well above gold or silver.
There are many upsides to rhodium-plated jewelry. It increases shine, luster, and durability and it will also make your jewelry less prone to tarnishing. Rhodium plating is nickel-free, making it hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin.
I am allergic to metals and silver, am I going to have a bad reaction?
Our jewelry is made of the highest quality Sterling silver 925 and gilded with 18-carat gold or rhodium, which are both hypoallergenic. Our jewelry is free from nickel, lead, aluminum, and other harmful metals, making it suitable for sensitive skin.
We've had no customer complaints on this issue, so are confident to say it is safe. However, in the specific case of silver allergies, it is better to be safe than sorry. We suggest purchasing solid gold jewelry instead, as plating may fade over time and exposure to the silver base is not 100% inevitable
Diamonds
Where do your diamonds come from?
All our diamonds are 100% certified real and natural. As a Responsible Jewelry Council certified member, we guarantee they are ethically sourced and conflict-free. We purchase exclusively from leading companies worldwide, in conformity with international conventions and the Kimberly Process,
What quality of diamonds do you use?
We pride ourselves in selecting our natural diamonds and precious stones with the greatest care. The quality of our diamonds is defined by a round single cut, H-clarity, and SI quality. They are meticulously handset by skilled professionals.
cut - They are cut like bigger diamonds; although with fewer facets due to their smaller size.
carat - Our diamonds are between 0,004 and 0,012 carats; small but very pretty.
color - We only use diamonds with color H, which is nearly colorless.
clarity - Our diamonds have ‘SI quality’ meaning that no impurities are visible to the naked eye.
Why not use lab- grown diamonds?
DPT exclusively uses 100% natural and ethically sourced diamonds in all its jewelry. They are timeless and high in value, an aspect that will never diminish. They are the true symbol of ‘eternal’ love, thanks to their durability and exceptional quality.
Our mission is to make diamond jewelry accessible to all. One would think synthetic diamonds are the obvious choice, costing considerably less than the natural equivalent. However, we do not want to compromise on the emotional value of a natural diamond.
A recent independent report revealed that growing synthetic diamonds actually calls for a heavy production process, discharging 2x the carbon emissions of a natural counterpart.
Why not use bigger diamonds?
Authentic diamond jewelry should be an affordable, everyday luxury. We believe the size of the diamonds we use is perfect to achieve our goal of making diamond jewelry accessible and making everyone feel valued.
Production
What type of other stones do you use?
Aside from our natural diamonds, we work with beautiful natural semi-precious stones such as topaz, peridot, garnet, quartz, amethyst, and onyx, amongst others. Cubic zirconia, which is often used in the jewelry industry, is not on our list. It's a synthetic product of mass production and does not perform up to our quality standards. In some designs, we use Akoya or natural baroque pearls.
Where is your production done?
Our design department is located in the diamond capital of the world, Antwerp. The actual production is done at one of the top manufacturers in Hong Kong. Certified by the Responsible Jewelry Council, our manufacturer carries out innovation and integrity as main business values. With teams having more than 30 years of experience in the industry, they are the perfect partner for quality craftsmanship.
Is your production process clean?
Yes, as a certified member of the Responsible Jewelry Council, DPT ensures true supply chain integrity and sustainability from mine to customer. This independent certification guarantees a clean, transparent, and sustainable production process, maximizing the use of natural materials in mindful conditions, considering waste management and essential recycling.
What are your sustainability efforts?
Besides our clean production process, certified by the Responsible Jewelry Council, we are focusing on using mostly recycled and eco-friendly materials in our retail design, packaging, and marketing materials. We aim to use mainly recycled Sterling silver and optimize the reusability of our materials by 2024. Thanks to our modest-scale products, our transport has a limited ecological impact, but we do push on a supply chain with the utmost use of bulk orders. We reward our customers for collecting their purchases in-store and therefore cut back on needless deliveries. We promote a conscious lifestyle, encouraging you to invest in high-quality lifetime pieces over fast fashion.

Care
How do I care for my jewelry?
We use precious and durable materials to ensure premium quality for everyday wear. With the proper care, your jewelry can last for a long time. Every piece of DPT jewelry comes with a cleaning cloth. Regularly clean your jewelry by soaking it for just a few minutes in warm water with detergent-free soap. Then gently clean it with a soft-bristled brush and rinse thoroughly. Dry and polish with the cleaning cloth to restore its shine.
Avoid abrasive cleansers, antibacterial soaps, perfumes, and lotions, as they may contain ingredients that can cause gold-plated jewelry to tarnish. Steer clear from extensive contact with water. Prolong the lifespan by storing your jewelry in a clean, cool, and dry place.
Can plating fade over time?
We use precious and durable materials to ensure premium quality for everyday wear. Every piece of DPT jewelry comes with a cleaning cloth — with the proper care, your jewelry can last for a long time. Gold plating will eventually wear off over time, but the process can be repeated over and over. We offer 1x free replating as part of our service.
There are black or red spots on my jewelry?
We use precious and durable materials to ensure premium quality for everyday wear. Using 925 Sterling silver as a base, gilded with 18-carat gold or protective white rhodium, DPT jewelry is therefore protected against oxidation. However, depending on where and how it has been stored some staining could occur, due to humidity. These stains can be easily removed with the polishing cleaning cloth.
Why do color shades vary from piece to piece?
The metal and gold content, used in plating baths, are mixed manually. Therefore some batches may come out slightly different. Using natural materials, the color of semi-precious stones and the shape of baroque pearls may vary just a little. This is not considered a flaw, on the contrary, this unique character is proof of being true to nature.
